Compensation & Benefits Specialist

About the role

The Compensation & Benefits Specialist will support BASF's APAC countries by delivering data‑driven compensation and benefits solutions. You will work closely with HR Business Partners, country C&B teams, and external vendors to ensure competitive and compliant programs.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse data for performance management, salary budgeting, merit cycles, and benefit renewal programmes.
• Conduct market benchmarking and economic indicator analysis to maintain competitiveness.
• Coordinate job family matching and submit data for market surveys such as the Mercer Remuneration Survey.
• Manage vendor relationships for insurance, flexible benefits, and employee assistance programmes, including contract negotiations and market analysis.
• Develop communication materials for employees and managers on new C&B initiatives.
• Support global C&B projects, share local processes, and assess impact on BASF HR systems.
• Provide guidance to Country HR on policies, labor laws, and corporate rules.
• Oversee recurring operational tasks such as insurance updates, year‑end benefit provisioning, and vendor payments.
• Assist with implementation and utilisation of C&B tools like SuccessFactors Compensation Planner and Gambit.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of compensation and benefits concepts within an APAC context.
• Experience collaborating with HR Business Partners and country teams.
• Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and propose process improvements.
• Knowledge of local labor laws and corporate HR policies.
• Excellent vendor management and communication skills.
