Coastal Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Coastal Engineer to support planning and design of civil engineering projects such as land reclamation, port construction and other coastal structures. The role involves both design and site work, collaborating with senior engineers and external consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the team in planning and design works for civil engineering projects (land reclamation, port construction, coastal structures) locally and overseas.
• Support the Executive Engineer/Design Manager in site investigation planning and result interpretation.
• Perform civil, structural, environmental and geotechnical design and analysis for quay walls, ports, jetties, revetments and land reclamation (foundations, retaining systems, soil improvement, instrumentation, etc.).
• Prepare technical calculations, reports, drawings and specifications.
• Manage sub‑contracts such as soil investigation, accredited checker and biodiversity contracts.
• Supervise design and/or site work to ensure compliance with statutory standards, regulations and codes of practice.
• Assist in tender submissions and project pursuit.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering recognised by regulatory bodies.
• Minimum 2 years experience in design of reclamation projects is an advantage; fresh graduates are also welcome.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Team player, able to multitask, disciplined, self‑motivated and resourceful.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Experience with engineering software such as Plaxis, GeoStudio, STAAD.Pro, Prokon (advantageous).
• Knowledge of civil, structural, environmental and geotechnical design principles for coastal structures.
