Business Reporting Associate Analyst (1-Year Contract)

About the role

BASF is looking for a Business Reporting Associate Analyst to join its finance team in Kuala Lumpur on a one‑year contract. You will support internal customers by delivering accurate and timely business reporting, ensuring compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain master data for material ledger, inventory valuation, production planning budget, intra‑company transfer pricing, cost center accounting, fixed assets and project accounting.
• Calculate monthly standard and actual prices for all materials and perform year‑end inventory valuation.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including cost center, cycle allocation and FICO reconciliation.
• Analyse cost variations, non‑distributed price differences, and provide commentary on plan vs. actual performance.
• Deliver business analysis and advisory support to controlling units and internal stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot reporting issues and act as backup for senior analysts.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, accounting or business studies.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in finance/accounting, preferably in business reporting.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
