Associate Team Leader / Team Leader, Data & Analytics

About the role

Oliver Wyman’s Data & Analytics division is seeking experienced professionals to lead client projects in Kuala Lumpur. The role involves managing end‑to‑end analytics engagements, collaborating with senior partners, and delivering high‑impact insights.

Key responsibilities

• Lead one project at a time (Associate TL) or multiple large assignments (Team Leader), overseeing hypothesis development, data collection, modelling, and analysis.
• Coach analysts and client team members, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and maintaining team energy and work‑life balance.
• Utilise partners and internal networks to provide technical and strategic guidance throughout projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, etc.).
• 3+ years (Associate TL) or 5+ years (Team Leader) experience in specialized consulting, top‑tier banking, or financial institutions.
• Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills, with the ability to work independently under limited supervision.

Required skills

• Advanced analytics and data manipulation using R, Python, SAS, SQL, or SPSS.
