Assistant IT Manager

About the role

The Assistant IT Manager will support the school's technology strategy by developing IT frameworks, standards and policies, and leading the IT team in delivering reliable systems and services. This role ensures the smooth operation of servers, networks, applications and devices, while driving continuous improvement and innovation across the school's IT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain IT framework, strategy, standards, policies and procedures aligned with organisational goals.
• Lead the IT team through the full application lifecycle: planning, development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades and support.
• Manage operating systems, servers, PCs, network infrastructure, software applications, mobile apps and peripherals.
• Enhance user experience through effective service management and regular communication with executives and senior management.
• Oversee IT staff recruitment, performance evaluation, training, coaching and disciplinary actions.
• Create and implement IT SOPs, protocols and guidelines for both the IT team and end‑users.
• Negotiate with vendors, engage consultants and establish service agreements to secure optimal deals.
• Prepare and manage IT budgets, project financials, purchases and ongoing expenditures.
• Monitor emerging technologies, identify innovation opportunities and ensure the school’s IT infrastructure remains up‑to‑date.
• Supervise IT projects, network infrastructure and systems to achieve optimal performance and timely issue escalation.
