Assembly Engineer

About the role

Monolithic Power Systems is seeking an Assembly Engineer to monitor and improve supplier quality across technology, quality, response, delivery and cost (TQRDC) metrics. The role focuses on ensuring high‑quality assembly processes and timely delivery for semiconductor packaging suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Handle assembly quality issues, determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct regular supplier audits, quarterly performance ratings and discuss quality/technical issues to drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor weekly assembly yield, defect modes and SPC data; check daily work‑in‑progress to maintain short cycle times and on‑time delivery.
• Perform risk assessments for wafer incoming issues and manage hold lots with assembly problems.
• Generate and evaluate supplier quality reports, establish baselines and identify improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate with FA engineers to identify assembly failures, root causes and corrective actions.
• Assist in qualification of new suppliers, materials, packages and assembly processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Fluent English writing and speaking skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of general assembly processes and QA controls (8D CAR, FMEA, SPC).
• Understanding of failure analysis (FA) and reliability concepts.
