API & Integration Senior Developer

About the role

We are looking for an API & Integration Senior Developer to join our Asia Pacific team in Kuala Lumpur. You will design, build and test APIs and integration services for the new Zurich Edge Insurance Platform, enabling high‑automation insurance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements and design domain‑centric APIs.
• Develop micro‑services APIs using REST/JSON and asynchronous design patterns.
• Create and maintain API documentation with Swagger.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, unit and integration testing.
• Troubleshoot integration issues and collaborate with internal and external teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience, primarily with Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services such as S3 and SQS.
• Strong background in PostgreSQL, REST/JSON, Swagger and Postman.
• Familiarity with SOAP, API‑first design, and design patterns.
• Experience using JIRA, SonarQube and AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot.
• Understanding of agile and DevOps delivery methodologies.
