Technician - Failure Analysis

About the role

Bosch Group is seeking a Technician specialized in Failure Analysis to support its Penang manufacturing plant. The role focuses on identifying, analysing and resolving production line issues to ensure safety, quality, cost efficiency and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with VSO, VSE and supervisors to analyse and improve production line performance.
• Conduct first‑level failure analysis of rejected tools or components and determine root causes.
• Support machine and process capability studies for new product introductions and mass production.
• Perform process studies, time studies and assist with ISIR sample builds.
• Assist with manufacturing changeovers, evaluation of rejects and technical reporting (Cgk, Cmk, GRR, SPC).
• Create and update visual aids, work instructions, 7S photos and quality‑awareness materials.
• Handle raw‑material complaints, scrap preparation and coordinate corrective actions.
• Train and monitor repairers on rework activities and support productivity targets.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects such as CIP, TPM, LLD and change‑over optimisation.

Required profile

• Technical background in manufacturing, industrial engineering or a related field.
• Ability to work on the shop floor, analyse data and communicate findings clearly.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on safety, quality and cost.
• Team player who can support supervisors and senior technicians.

Required skills

• Failure analysis techniques.
• Process capability studies (Cp, Cpk, Cmk).
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Gauge R&R (GRR).
• Manufacturing documentation (work instructions, visual aids, quality alerts).
• Scrap management and raw‑material complaint handling.
• Continuous improvement methodologies (CIP, TPM, LLD).
