Technical Principal – Roads & Highways

About the role

The Technical Principal – Roads & Highways provides single‑point accountability for technical decisions across multiple infrastructure projects. You will oversee design quality, ensure compliance with standards, and lead complex engineering issue resolution while supporting regional initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee design quality, standards, and approvals for roads and highways projects.
• Lead resolution of complex engineering issues and ensure consistency across teams.
• Enhance project delivery by controlling costs, reducing rework, and supporting successful tender submissions.
• Build client and stakeholder confidence by aligning deliverables with local guidelines, codes, and practices.
• Mentor engineers, develop technical depth, and create succession pipelines.
• Support regional projects in Singapore, the Pacific region, and other locations as required.

Required profile

• Proven senior engineering experience in roads and highways.
• Strong leadership and ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and private sector partners.
• In‑depth knowledge of Malaysian road design codes, standards, and local practices.
• Demonstrated capability in talent development and mentoring junior engineers.
