Team Lead / Asst Manager - Senior Collections Specialist

About the role

Lead the Collections Team in managing the end‑to‑end collections process, ensuring accurate bad‑debt recovery, timely resolution of unmatched transactions and audit readiness. Collaborate with finance, underwriting, operations and IT to maintain financial integrity and drive continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily collections and bad debts recovery processes.
• Handle Direct and Non‑Direct accounts.
• Monitor and resolve unmatched receipts, journals, payments and DKOs.
• Conduct monthly meetings with stakeholders.
• Perform monthly broker statement reconciliations and communicate unreconciled items.
• Review and approve premium and commission refunds and DKOs.
• Manage the annual bad debt write‑off process and unclaimed monies in line with policies and regulations.
• Act as escalation point for complex collection, unmatched and reconciliation issues.
• Support internal and external audits with complete documentation.
• Attend to ad‑hoc requests and operational matters as required.
• Collaborate with Finance, Underwriting, Operations, IT and other stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Supervise, coach and develop team members to achieve operational and service targets.
• Participate in system enhancements, UAT activities, automation initiatives and process improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Business Management.
• 3–5 years experience in Collections or Accounts Receivable.
• 1–2 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience in General Insurance, Financial Services or Shared Services environment is an advantage.
• Intermediate or advanced Excel and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
