Staff Electronic Development Engineer

About the role

As a Staff Electronic Development Engineer you will join Bosch Cross‑Domain Computing Solutions (XC) in Penang, contributing to the design and development of electronic hardware for automotive infotainment and compute devices. You will work on category B/C projects, ensuring high‑quality outcomes that meet both internal and customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams on electronic design matters, providing guidance and issue resolution.
• Create circuit diagrams and maintain electronic specifications and BOMs for medium‑complexity products.
• Develop work‑breakdown structures (WBS) for electronic design and evaluate designs for cost, quality and performance improvements.
• Select and recommend electronic components, prepare test instructions (PAV, FEP) and EMC test plans.
• Act as change engineer for component end‑of‑life replacements and assess customer technical specifications.
• Estimate engineering effort, including man‑hours, material, travel and validation costs.
• Provide mentorship on automotive standards (CDQ, TS16949, ISO26262) and deliver technical training.
• Contribute to organizational standards and technology roadmap definition.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electronic hardware development for automotive applications.
• Strong understanding of automotive quality and safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and guide junior engineers.
