SMT Digitalization & Automation Project Lead

About the role

We are looking for an experienced SMT Digitalization & Automation Project Lead to drive the development and integration of software solutions that support our manufacturing operations at Bosch Group in Bayan Lepas. The role combines software engineering, system integration and data analytics to enhance production efficiency and enable smart factory initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain industrial software applications, including web apps, APIs, backend services and databases.
• Create and sustain integrations between manufacturing equipment, MES, ERP and other enterprise systems, ensuring secure data exchange.
• Build and manage manufacturing data pipelines, dashboards and reporting tools for operational monitoring and decision‑making.
• Provide application support through root‑cause analysis, troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities, evaluate new technologies and ensure compliance with cybersecurity and digital governance standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience, including at least one year in a leadership or project‑management role.
• Hands‑on experience with SMT equipment and processes.
• Strong communication, presentation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, align with team goals and lead by example.

Required skills

• Programming: Python, SQL, JavaScript.
• Data visualization: Power BI, Tableau.
