Senior/Staff Electronic Development Engineer

About the role

Join Bosch Cross‑Domain Computing Solutions in Penang as a Senior/Staff Electronic Development Engineer, leading electronic hardware design for automotive B/C category projects and ensuring high‑quality, cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams on electronic design matters, identify issues and provide guidance to deliver quality outcomes.
• Prepare circuit diagrams, electronic specifications and BOMs for B/C category projects.
• Establish work‑breakdown structures (WBS) for electronic design and development.
• Evaluate designs for cost, quality and performance improvements and recommend suitable components.
• Support sample builds, troubleshoot issues, and create manufacturing test instructions, validation tests and EMC test plans.
• Act as change engineer for EOL component replacements and major design updates.
• Estimate engineering effort, including man‑hours, material, travel and test resources.
• Provide guidance on automotive standards (IATF 16949, ISO 26262) and deliver technical training on hardware circuit design.
• Develop organizational standards, contribute to technology road‑maps and coordinate continuous‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• 5‑10 years of experience in electronic hardware design and product development.
• Proven experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with automotive development standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 26262 is an advantage.
