Senior Solution Engineer – Expansion (Telco & FSI)

About the role

Snowflake is looking for a senior solution engineer to drive expansion of its data platform across enterprise customers in Malaysia, focusing on the telecommunications and financial services sectors. The role combines deep technical expertise with industry knowledge to help customers adopt Snowflake for data, analytics and AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical expansion strategy for a portfolio of Telco and FSI accounts, identifying new workloads and use cases to increase Snowflake consumption.
• Partner with account executives to present Snowflake technology, run demos, proofs‑of‑concept and design implementations.
• Lead technical discovery sessions, craft target‑state architectures and roadmaps for data consolidation, analytics, AI and data sharing.
• Provide guidance on best practices for data modeling, performance tuning, cost governance, security and operations.
• Collaborate with professional services, product, partners and SI/ISV ecosystems to ensure successful customer outcomes.

Required profile

• 7+ years in a customer‑facing technical role such as solutions engineer, pre‑sales architect or data architect.
• Proven experience driving technical wins and expansion in enterprise accounts, preferably in a subscription or consumption model.
• Strong communication skills, able to engage both technical teams and senior business executives.
• Based in Malaysia with willingness to travel within the region.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud‑native data platforms.
• SQL proficiency and programming in Python.
• Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark or other big‑data technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS, Azure or GCP and their data services.
• Knowledge of data ingestion, transformation, performance tuning, cost governance, security, data masking and governance.
• Use of analytics/BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Looker.
