Senior Planning Engineer (Production Planning)

About the role

TotalEnergies EP Sarawak Inc. is looking for a Senior Operations Engineer (Planning) to join its Field Operations team in Kuala Lumpur. The role covers production planning, forecasting, reporting and budgeting, and aims to optimize field operating efficiency while working with internal and external stakeholders across the upstream gas value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Produce daily, weekly and monthly production reports (values, shortfall and operating efficiency) using existing tools such as the HQ reporting site and Excel, and support internal and external parties with queries and ad hoc reports
• Submit 30-day and 90-day production and activity outlooks each month, engage with MPM and other PACs in the monthly Gas Operational Delivery Committee, and represent TEPMY in production planning meetings, including hosting them once or twice a year
• Identify field opportunities and threats, monitor gas composition, and forecast the production profile and planned activities at least two years ahead with the Subsurface team
• Take part in bi-annual planning meetings to align upstream and downstream turnarounds and production impact activities, and take part in technical discussions on facility constraints such as design capacity and production limits
• Provide a weekly update on production and activities across the network
• Plan the field operations budget by consolidating production data, comparing it with historical data and proposing realistic figures
• Comply with hydrocarbon allocation requirements, check allocation inputs such as meter tickets, maintain a minimum material balance factor of 0.98 with the Metering Engineer, and stay up to date with standards such as PPGUA, GSA, OMFUA/MSA and MTAB procedures

Required profile

• Professional certificate or bachelor degree in engineering or science, or equivalent qualification in a related field
• At least 5 years of experience (minimum diploma) or 10 years of experience (minimum professional certificate) in oil and gas
