Senior Manager - Tax Payroll

About the role

PwC is seeking a Senior Manager to lead its Tax Payroll practice in Kuala Lumpur. The role involves advising a diverse client base on payroll‑related tax compliance, statutory reporting and strategic tax planning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of payroll tax professionals, providing coaching and performance management.
• Oversee end‑to‑end payroll processing for client batches, ensuring accurate data handling and timely statutory filings (Income Tax, EPF, SOCSO, HRDF, Tabung Haji, etc.).
• Prepare and submit periodic statutory returns and annual employer/employee tax forms (Form E & EA).
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage projects related to system upgrades and new payroll tax reporting solutions.
• Deliver advisory services on payroll legislation and support clients with complex payroll tax issues.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in payroll tax compliance and advisory, preferably within a professional services environment.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop diverse teams.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to solve complex problems under ambiguity.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical tax concepts to clients and internal stakeholders.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Malaysian payroll tax regulations and statutory filing requirements.
• Experience with payroll processing systems and tax reporting tools.
