Senior Executive – Customs Classification, Asia Pacific

About the role

The Customs Classification Senior Executive is responsible for all activities required to classify BASF products, raw materials and other non‑chemical materials, ensuring compliance with applicable customs laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver customs services to the business and collaborate cross‑functionally with supply‑chain and trade‑compliance teams.
• Classify BASF products, raw materials and non‑chemical materials and maintain master data in customs databases.
• Support business unit queries on classification, duty calculations and related analysis.
• Prepare monthly statistics, KPI reports and monitor performance to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage the service mailbox, SharePoint/Teams folders and enforce record‑keeping policies.
• Participate in process optimisation, digitalisation initiatives and system upgrade testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
• 2‑3 years of relevant experience in customs classification, foreign trade or supply‑chain functions.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of SAP, preferably SAP GTS.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
