Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Hardware Solution Product

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and maintain firmware for Bosch hardware solution products in our Penang R&D centre. You will work on cutting‑edge automotive platforms, collaborating with global teams in Malaysia and Germany to deliver reliable, cost‑effective software for V2X, infotainment and cockpit solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and test embedded firmware that meets customer, engineering and manufacturing requirements.
• Integrate firmware with hardware using physical interfaces such as Serial, Ethernet and USB.
• Collaborate with the embedded firmware teams in Malaysia and Germany to align development goals.
• Support global engineering and manufacturing sites during HW‑SW bring‑up, troubleshooting and failure analysis.
• Perform requirement, design and code reviews following Bosch’s software engineering process.
• Create and execute unit tests, test specifications and test software to validate functionality and performance.
• Document technical designs, analysis reports and release notes.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Several years of experience developing embedded firmware for automotive or similar safety‑critical applications.
• Strong understanding of hardware‑software integration and testing methodologies.
• Ability to work in multicultural, cross‑functional teams and communicate technical information clearly.
