Senior Electronic Development Engineer

About the role

Join Bosch Cross‑Domain Computing Solutions (XC) in Penang as a Senior Electronic Development Engineer. You will work on category C/D automotive projects, delivering high‑quality electronic designs that meet internal and external specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams on electronic design matters, providing guidance to ensure quality outcomes.
• Create circuit diagrams and electronic specifications for hardware designs.
• Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOM) for medium‑complexity products.
• Develop Work‑Breakdown‑Structure (WBS) for electronic design and development.
• Evaluate device designs for cost, quality and performance improvements.
• Select and recommend electronic components for new product designs.
• Support sample builds, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems during development.
• Prepare inputs for manufacturing test instructions, electrical validation tests and EMC test plans.
• Act as change engineer for component replacements due to end‑of‑life.
• Review customer specifications, propose alternatives and present concepts.
• Estimate engineering effort, including man‑hours, material and travel.
• Mentor team members on automotive standards such as CDQ, TS16949 and ISO26262.
• Coordinate continuous improvement activities and stay updated on emerging electronic technologies.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in electronic design for automotive applications.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Familiarity with automotive quality standards (CDQ, TS16949, ISO26262).
• Strong analytical skills for evaluating cost, quality and performance trade‑offs.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with customers and internal stakeholders.
