Senior Associate – Indirect Tax

About the role

PwC is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Indirect Tax practice in Kuala Lumpur. You will work with a diverse client base, advising on local and cross‑border tax matters while helping organisations optimise cash flow and mitigate tax risk.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on indirect tax issues, including VAT, SST, GST and customs duties.
• Prepare and review indirect tax compliance filings and returns.
• Identify, assess and communicate tax risks and opportunities to clients.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce tax exposure and capture savings.
• Supervise day‑to‑day administration of client portfolios.
• Conduct research on SST regulations and produce related reports and advice.

Required profile

• University degree in accounting, finance, law or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in indirect tax, preferably within a professional services environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex tax legislation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted client relationships.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of VAT, GST, SST and customs regulations.
• Experience in tax compliance and indirect tax return preparation.
