Senior Associate – Financial Risk Management

About the role

PwC Malaysia is looking for a Senior Associate to join its Financial Risk Management (FRM) team in Kuala Lumpur. The role involves delivering risk management solutions across credit, market, operational, liquidity and capital domains for clients in diverse industries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate financial models for credit, market and operational risk, including IFRS 9/ECL models, scorecards and climate‑risk stress testing.
• Support clients in meeting Basel and other regulatory requirements such as ICAAP and capital adequacy assessments.
• Provide hedge accounting, treasury and valuation of financial instruments advice.
• Analyse large data sets, apply advanced analytics, and produce actionable insights for risk‑resilience improvement.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, contribute to business development and maintain professional standards.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, economics, accounting or a related field.
• At least 3‑5 years of experience in financial risk management, modelling or regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
• Commitment to continuous learning and adherence to PwC’s code of ethics.
