Senior Analyst, Technology & Digital Infrastructure

About the role

BowerGroupAsia (BGA) is looking for a Senior Analyst, Technology & Digital Infrastructure to join its Malaysia team in Kuala Lumpur. The role sits at the intersection of technology, infrastructure and public policy, providing technical expertise to advise multinational clients on policy, regulatory and commercial matters.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the technical and industry expert for BGA Malaysia’s technology‑related client work, analysing developments in data centres, cloud computing, AI infrastructure, telecommunications, cybersecurity, semiconductors and digital platforms.
• Assess the technical feasibility, infrastructure requirements and operational constraints of major technology investments, translating complex developments into clear commercial and policy implications.
• Monitor Malaysian policies, regulations and government initiatives affecting the technology sector, evaluating their impact on cost, competitiveness and deployment of digital infrastructure.
• Analyse Malaysia’s data‑centre ecosystem, including power, grid capacity, renewable energy, connectivity, land and planning requirements.
• Map key decision‑makers, stakeholders and institutions shaping technology policy and provide intelligence to clients.

Required profile

• Professional experience working directly in technology, digital infrastructure, telecommunications, engineering or a closely related sector.
• Strong technical understanding of at least one area such as data centres, cloud infrastructure, AI infrastructure, telecommunications networks, cybersecurity, semiconductors or digital infrastructure.
• Demonstrated interest in public policy and regulation, with the ability to assess how government decisions affect technology businesses.
