School Nurse

About the role

The School Nurse will provide health assessment, intervention and documentation for students and staff at Asia Pacific Schools in Subang, Malaysia. The role involves delivering first‑aid care, managing medication, and coordinating health programmes while ensuring compliance with Malaysian nursing regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide care for injured and ill students and staff using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document care.
• Deliver emergency care and arrange transfer to external medical facilities when appropriate.
• Liaise with line manager and school principals regarding health and safety matters.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by healthcare providers or advised by parents.
• Maintain first‑aid kits for the campus and sports programmes, including approved field trips.
• Keep accurate, confidential logs of student visits and communicate relevant information to school leadership.
• Update student health information in Engage and 360 promptly.
• Assist with admission and withdrawal health forms and maintain health records.
• Stock and manage expendable supplies and capital equipment for the infirmary.
• Maintain a valid Malaysian Board of Nursing registration and liaise with health authorities such as PKD and MOH.
• Coordinate health programmes for students and staff and perform any other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Degree in nursing or equivalent.
• Minimum three years full‑time nursing experience in a clinic, hospital or approved healthcare setting.
• Valid nursing registration with the National Nursing Board of Malaysia.
• Computer literate with good interpersonal communication skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
