Reservoir Engineer

About the role

Adterra is seeking a Reservoir Engineer to join its Kuala Lumpur office. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to evaluate reservoirs, optimise production and support field development across multiple international projects.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse reservoir performance using pressure, production and well data, and perform material‑balance and decline‑curve studies.
• Build, update and quality‑check reservoir models, run history‑matching, forecasting and sensitivity analyses.
• Gather, validate and interpret subsurface and production data, identifying gaps and ensuring data consistency.
• Apply and help develop AI/ML‑assisted forecasting, decline‑curve and history‑matching automation tools.
• Contribute to field development studies, well‑performance assessments and production optimisation recommendations.
• Prepare technical notes, reports and presentations, and communicate findings to project teams.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant reservoir engineering experience, preferably in oil & gas projects.
• Strong understanding of reservoir fundamentals, data analysis and modelling workflows.
• Ability to work autonomously within multidisciplinary, international teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with reservoir engineering software and Microsoft Office.
• Python scripting and experience with AI/ML tools for forecasting and automation.
