Research Analyst, Banking & Financial Services

About the role

Oliver Wyman is seeking an experienced research professional to join its Knowledge Services Department in Kuala Lumpur. You will work closely with partners and consultants to support secondary research, deliver high‑quality insights, and contribute to client projects and business development.

Key responsibilities

• Utilise a wide range of information tools and proprietary databases to provide quick solutions and in‑depth research for the business.
• Synthesize information, identify key concepts and trends, and deliver well‑structured research products with basic insights.
• Collaborate with consultants on client service, business development, and intellectual capital projects.
• Manage industry‑specific task pipelines, set priorities, and meet client demands across international teams.
• Produce graphical portrayals of findings using MS Office tools and, where applicable, Power BI.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of research experience in management consulting, technology, investment banking, private equity, asset management, or a research provider.
• Ability to operate under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong analytical mindset, creative problem‑solving skills, and high attention to detail.
• Current Malaysian work rights; no visa sponsorship offered.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Bloomberg, LSEG‑Eikon‑Refinitiv, S&P Capital IQ.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office suite proficiency.
• Experience with Power BI (advantageous).
• Ability to apply Generative AI tools to enhance research efficiency.
