Product and Test Engineer – Offshore Operations

About the role

This position is based in Penang, Malaysia, working onsite at an OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) facility. The engineer will coordinate with suppliers, vendors, planners and internal design teams to launch new ASIC products into mass production and monitor test performance across wafer and final test stages.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with OSAT departments to ensure smooth wafer and final‑test operations.
• Perform data analysis for production lot disposition and identify low‑yield issues.
• Collaborate with OSAT and vendors to resolve production yield problems.
• Support new test programs, qualify test hardware and testers for production release.
• Manage test hardware and tooling inventory, forecast spare‑part needs with planners.
• Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturing partners and vendors.
• Assist production ramp‑up activities together with product and test engineering teams.
• Maintain test hardware and software to support production testing and product qualification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of product test engineering experience.
• Hands‑on experience with data‑analysis tools, preferably YieldHub.
• Proven experience in semiconductor test qualification (hardware, software and test machines).
• Experience managing suppliers and vendors in a production environment.
• Understanding of 8D problem‑solving methodology and test manufacturing processes.
