Process and Equipment Engineer – Automotive ICs

About the role

Join Bosch Group’s newest semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan, Penang, as a Process and Equipment Engineer focused on automotive integrated circuits. You will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and optimisation of tape‑and‑reel, vision and packaging equipment used in final testing of semiconductor components.

Key responsibilities

• Interface with all Tape & Reel, Vision and Packaging equipment and manage pre‑acceptance, release and fine‑tuning of machines.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, calibration and root‑cause analysis of mechanical, electrical and electronic failures.
• Analyse downtime, localise failures on measurement boards and PCBs, and repair or replace components.
• Adapt circuit diagrams autonomously according to engineering specifications.
• Collaborate with equipment suppliers, monitor due dates and lead technical discussions.
• Develop and implement measures to reduce failures, improve yield, MTBF/MTTR and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Support operators and technicians through training and work‑instruction compliance.
• Assist in FMEA, control‑plan creation and ensure spare‑part availability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic or related engineering.
• 1‑5 years of relevant engineering experience in a semiconductor or high‑tech manufacturing environment.
• Experience with COHU NY32 Turret and Vitrox Tape‑Reel vision systems is an advantage.
