Music and Drama Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Music and Drama Teacher to join our Creative and Performing Arts Department at Tenby Ipoh International. The role involves delivering high‑quality instruction in music and drama, preparing students for school‑wide performances, and contributing to a vibrant learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach music and drama skills, including voice, tone, tempo, rhythm, instrumental techniques, scales, sight‑reading and music theory.
• Plan, rehearse and lead students in school and community musical programmes and drama productions.
• Develop and maintain an effective music education programme aligned with IPC themes and IGCSE curriculum.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials and assess student performance, providing feedback for improvement.
• Maintain student behavioural standards during rehearsals and performances and ensure a safe, positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with the school community to organise musical programmes for civic functions and school productions.
• Monitor attendance, grading records and contribute to curriculum development and faculty committees.
• Recommend maintenance and repairs for musical instruments as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, with a post‑graduate teaching qualification.
• Degree in Music (Applied Arts, Classical, Contemporary or similar).
• Minimum of two years teaching experience, preferably up to IGCSE level.
• Proficiency in playing a musical instrument and ability to teach both music and drama.
• Fluent written and spoken English, patient, responsible and passionate about teaching.
• Computer literate with good interpersonal communication skills.
