Manager - Tax (Financial Services)

About the role

PwC is seeking a Manager to lead tax services for its Financial Services clients in Kuala Lumpur. The role focuses on ensuring compliance, developing tax strategies, and advising on complex transactions while supporting the firm’s growth and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Tax Compliance – Prepare and file corporate income tax returns and other statutory filings accurately and on time.
• Tax Planning – Design and implement tax optimisation strategies to reduce liabilities and manage risk.
• Advisory – Provide expert advice on tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, investment structures, incentives, and new ventures.
• Reporting – Prepare tax provision calculations for financial statements and ensure proper accounting.
• Regulatory Monitoring – Stay updated on tax law changes and assess their impact on client positions.
• Collaboration – Work closely with finance, legal, and business units to align tax matters across the organisation.
• Leadership – Coach, develop, and motivate team members, manage performance, and uphold firm values.

Required profile

• Proven experience in tax compliance and advisory, preferably within financial services.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and people‑development skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of corporate tax regulations and filing requirements.
