Maintenance Engineer (Equipment)

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer ensures reliability, availability, safety and performance of production equipment, machines, jigs and fixtures in an assigned production area. The role drives continuous improvement, owns maintenance KPIs and acts as a technical escalation point for complex equipment issues.

Key responsibilities

• Drive equipment reliability and improve KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, MME/100hrs, availability and OEE.
• Lead complex troubleshooting, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Define and continuously improve preventive maintenance strategies, maintenance standards and spare‑parts management.
• Identify and execute reliability improvement projects, support equipment upgrades and modernization.
• Contribute to technology clusters and own horizontal maintenance topics across production areas.
• Coach, train and mentor maintenance technicians, and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Safety and other functions to support operational performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance, reliability or equipment engineering in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and systematic problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and manage projects.

• RCA, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, FMEA.
• MTBF / MTTR analysis, OEE improvement.
• Preventive maintenance systems and spare‑parts management.
• Reliability engineering principles.
• Power BI and data‑analytics tools.
• Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
