L1 SOC Analyst – Specialist

About the role

Join PwC's Digital Trust & Cybersecurity team as a Level 1 SOC Analyst. You will work in a 24/7 environment monitoring the organisation's security posture, detecting and responding to incidents, and supporting the first line of defence against cyber threats.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and triage security alerts, collect supporting data, and correlate events across security devices.
• Conduct clear shift handovers, prepare handover reports, and communicate findings to the next shift.
• Investigate log flow issues to the SIEM, liaise with server owners, and resolve Linux syslog and Windows permission problems.
• Handle Jira tickets, forward or resolve inquiries, and report log‑parser or false‑alarm issues to the Infra/SIEM team.
• Review alerts generated by security tools, analyse potential incidents, and escalate to L2/L3 analysts as needed.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 0‑1 years of experience in security operations or a similar technical role.
• Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 environment.
