Global Tax Manager (Advisory)

About the role

Deriv is hiring a Global Tax Manager (Advisory) in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, who reports directly to the Head of Tax. The role covers multi-jurisdiction tax compliance, tax accounting and advisory, in a fast-moving fintech environment where the team is lean and broad responsibilities are expected.

Key responsibilities

• Own multi-jurisdiction tax compliance: coordinate with internal finance teams and external consultants so filings, payments and reporting are accurate and on time, and build compliance frameworks from scratch for new jurisdictions.
• Deliver credible tax accounting for current tax, deferred tax, provisions and disclosures, keeping tax balances robust, defensible and audit-ready.
• Research tax implications of business activities, cross-border transactions and structural changes, and assess risks and develop solutions.
• Manage transfer pricing documentation, intercompany arrangements and coordination with external advisors.
• Monitor tax law and regulatory developments, improve trackers, workflows, governance and documentation standards, and use AI tools and automation to reduce manual work.

Required profile

• 10+ years of relevant tax experience, with a strong foundation in corporate income tax and exposure across multiple jurisdictions.
• Working knowledge of direct tax compliance, indirect tax, tax accounting, transfer pricing, advisory and tax risk management.
• Experience managing external tax consultants, challenging their advice and communicating precisely.
• Strong written and verbal skills, with interest in automation, process improvement and AI-enabled workflows.
• Ideal background combines professional firm training and in-house multinational experience; fintech exposure is useful but not required.
