Global Customs Classification Executive

About the role

The Global Customs Classification Executive is responsible for classifying BASF products, raw materials and non‑chemical materials worldwide. The role works within the Global Customs Classification team and collaborates closely with national teams to ensure accurate HS code assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Classify BASF products, raw materials and non‑chemical items and maintain master data in customs databases.
• Document and justify tariff numbers, providing internal and external justifications for customs authorities.
• Monitor regulatory changes, court decisions and update classifications accordingly.
• Support business units with customs queries, duty analysis and ad‑hoc requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related scientific field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in customs classification of chemical products or foreign trade.
• Fluent English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
• Ability to interpret regulatory texts and work with global time‑zone stakeholders.

• Data preparation for dashboards and reporting.
