General Accounting Manager – APAC Finance Operations

About the role

The General Accounting Manager will lead the month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes for CooperVision’s APAC entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and robust internal controls. This role focuses on designing efficient accounting procedures, driving automation, and delivering insightful variance analysis to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual close cycles, guaranteeing timely and high‑quality financial statements.
• Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger, enforce compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Review and approve balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Conduct detailed P&L and balance‑sheet variance analysis, providing clear narratives for management reporting.
• Partner with FP&A to align financial analysis, support variance explanations and improve reporting consistency.
• Own end‑to‑end inventory accounting, including valuation, obsolescence provisioning and cut‑off compliance.
• Reconcile inventory balances between the GL and ERP systems (Oracle, JD Edwards) and oversee goods‑in‑transit accounting.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across accounting processes.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting background with experience in large, multinational environments.
• Execution‑focused mindset with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
• Demonstrated experience managing close processes and GL ownership.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
• Experience working in the APAC region is preferred.
