Financial Reporting Analyst (Mandarin) – 1 Year Contract

About the role

The Financial Reporting Analyst (or Senior Analyst) will deliver end‑to‑end reporting services for BASF entities in the Asia‑Pacific region. The role requires daily transaction processing, month‑end reporting and close collaboration with stakeholders in China, ensuring compliance with BASF policies and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end financial reporting transaction processing, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness on a daily basis.
• Prepare and coordinate month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end financial reports for BASF entities across Asia‑Pacific, including group, management and statutory reporting.
• Perform analytical reviews of profit and loss accounts and balance sheets, conduct trend analysis and support audit and tax schedules.
• Participate in compliance audits, internal control projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives such as Smart Close and technology enhancements.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, accounting or business studies; Chartered or Certified Accountant qualification is a plus.
• Minimum three years of experience in financial reporting, accounting or audit, with ability to work in a shared‑service or multinational environment.
• Fluent in Mandarin (read, write, speak) to support Chinese stakeholders.
• Experience with SAP or other major ERP systems is preferred.

Required skills

• SAP (or comparable ERP) for transaction processing and reporting.
• Advanced MS Office, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
