Finance Team Lead – P2P Payments

About the role

Wilhelmsen’s Global Business Services division is seeking a Finance Team Lead to oversee P2P payment operations. Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will drive daily payment processing, ensure service level agreements are met, and support the company’s mission of delivering innovative, sustainable maritime services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily P2P payment operations and achieve SLA targets.
• Review and approve payment batches in line with internal controls.
• Monitor exceptions, rejected payments, and urgent requests.
• Oversee payment and bank reconciliation activities.
• Ensure compliance with finance policies, segregation of duties and internal controls.
• Coach, manage and allocate workload for the finance team.
• Collaborate with AP, Treasury, Procurement, banks and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare performance reports and track key KPIs.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation and efficiency gains.
• Support internal and external audits and resolve control issues.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of finance processing experience in a high‑volume environment, preferably within an SSC/BPO.
• At least 3 years of management experience leading team leads.
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; professional accounting certification is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and transactional activities (AP, AR, cash).
• Excellent written and spoken English; Mandarin or other Asian/Arabic languages are advantageous.
