Finance Manager

About the role

Wilhelmsen Ship Management is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial operations for its service business in Kuala Lumpur. The role combines day‑to‑day accounting, financial reporting, process improvement and strategic analysis to support the company’s global maritime activities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, collections and reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate flow of financial information across finance, operations and other functions.
• Prepare monthly financial statements – profit & loss, balance sheet and cash‑flow – and monitor variances.
• Develop and continuously improve end‑to‑end finance processes, integrating them with ERP and other business systems.
• Implement internal controls, segregation of duties and audit trails in line with WSM policies and IFRS.
• Support statutory audits, tax compliance (VAT, withholding tax) and inter‑company recharges.
• Partner with the General Manager on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial modelling for new services.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting, working‑capital requirements and multi‑currency exposure in coordination with Group Treasury.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional accounting qualification is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or equivalent in a high‑volume, transaction‑intensive environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, statutory reporting, tax and internal‑control requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement, ERP implementation and automation initiatives.
