Finance Manager – Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller/Senior Accounting Manager to join our finance team in Kuala Lumpur. The role reports to the VP, Finance, and will own and scale the bank’s accounting infrastructure while travelling to Georgia as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close across all group entities, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, inter‑company accounting, consolidation and preparation of financial statements.
• Manage day‑to‑day finance operations such as client invoicing, collections, accounts payable, vendor billing and payment processing for the entire group.
• Coordinate group‑level and entity‑level audits, prepare supporting schedules, handle auditor requests and resolve audit findings.
• Develop and maintain robust financial controls, accounting policies, approval processes and documented finance procedures.
• Support statutory and regulatory reporting, including preparation and submission of statutory accounts and other finance‑related filings.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance accounting, reconciliation and reporting workflows.

Required profile

• 6–12 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting or finance operations, preferably within multi‑entity or international groups.
• Background in a Big 4 accounting firm, especially audit or advisory, is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and ability to apply them to complex transactions.
• Proven experience managing month‑end close, reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
• Experience supporting external audits, statutory reporting and establishing financial controls.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IFRS standards.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Experience with enterprise‑grade accounting/ERP systems.
• Familiarity with AI and automation tools for finance process improvement.
