Finance Commercial Project Accounting Lead

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Finance Commercial Project Accounting Lead to partner with project and business leaders, ensuring financial discipline and commercial performance across its portfolio. You will provide trusted advice throughout the project lifecycle, aligning delivery with contractual obligations and Aurecon's financial governance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a business partner to project leaders and managers, supporting commercial and financial aspects of project management.
• Interpret and monitor contractual terms, service fees, billing schedules, and payment terms.
• Review project data in Proteus and Workday, highlighting potential issues to stakeholders.
• Perform ETC/EAC reviews, ensuring accurate forecasts are reflected in systems.
• Oversee project accounting and revenue recognition in line with Aurecon policy and DoAM.
• Lead credit control activities, including billing, invoicing, and collection, working closely with project teams.
• Monitor WIP and AR aging, ensuring balances are accurate on the balance sheet.
• Contribute to annual budgeting, regular forecasting, and prepare regular and ad‑hoc financial reports.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of project finance and commercial contracts.
• Experience partnering with project leaders and finance teams.
• Ability to analyse financial data and communicate issues clearly.
• Proactive attitude towards credit control and cash‑flow management.
