Experienced Associate – Risk, Performance & Governance

About the role

PwC is seeking an Experienced Associate to join its Risk Services team in Kuala Lumpur. You will work within the Assurance line of service, providing independent assessments of financial statements, internal controls, and governance processes for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct audit and assurance engagements focusing on risk, performance, governance and controls.
• Evaluate client compliance with regulations and industry standards such as COSO and ISO 31000.
• Support internal teams to mitigate engagement risks and improve audit quality.
• Provide thought leadership, guidance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to varying client scopes.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Business Information Systems or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA Australia or CISA is an advantage.
• 1‑2 years of relevant experience in audit, risk, governance or compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Understanding of governance, risk and compliance frameworks and standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of COSO framework.
• Familiarity with ISO 31000 risk management standards.
• Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
