Engineer - Product Quality

About the role

We are looking for a Product Quality Engineer to join Bosch’s manufacturing plant in Bayan Lepas, Penang. The role ensures that new and existing products meet customer and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement across the production line.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce new product quality requirements and act as the PQE function.
• Control line processes, manage complaints and ensure compliance with the 1‑2‑14 rule.
• Develop, review and monitor quality control procedures, proposing improvements as needed.
• Lead internal and external audit follow‑up, including product safety audits.
• Supervise QMM technicians, monitor KPI performance and drive corrective actions.
• Manage process‑improvement projects and report results to management.
• Resolve quality problems using PSS/8D methodology.
• Create and maintain inspection plans for incoming and outgoing parts (FQ, VQ) and approve first‑article inspections (ISIR).
• Oversee new product introduction activities such as start‑up projects, warranty handling, reliability testing, FMEA, PQP and production line release.
• Ensure all ISIR requirements (Cpk > 1.33, control plan, supplier qualification) are met before release.
• Coordinate testing, investigate failures and close the loop on corrective actions.

Required profile

• Experience in product quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of PQE functions, audit processes and the 1‑2‑14 rule.
• Proven ability to lead continuous‑improvement projects and manage KPI reporting.
• Familiarity with complaint handling, warranty processes and reliability testing.
• Capability to work with cross‑functional teams and suppliers to ensure quality compliance.
