Electrical & Instrumentation Intern – 6‑Month Internship

About the role

This 6‑month internship offers engineering students the chance to support the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) team at BASF Malaysia. You will work on documentation, system updates and Lean initiatives while gaining hands‑on experience in a large chemical production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in Lean Bootcamp tasks and related documentation.
• Support the E&I team in developing and maintaining a Know‑How Management SharePoint site.
• Update and maintain Integrated Management System (IMS) documentation for E&I.
• Revise and keep current E&I schematics, single‑line diagrams, and Piping & Instrumentation documents.
• Prepare risk‑control documentation and task lists.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Diploma or Degree program in Engineering.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with technical documentation.

Required skills

• Familiarity with SharePoint for document management.
• Understanding of Integrated Management System (IMS) concepts.
• Ability to read and update schematic diagrams and single‑line diagrams.
• Knowledge of Piping and Instrumentation (P&I) documentation.
• Basic knowledge of Lean methodologies.
