Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering Intern

About the role

This internship supports the Instrumentation department of a Polymer Dispersion Plant in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. You will gain hands‑on experience in engineering, maintenance planning, preventive maintenance and project activities related to electrical and instrumentation systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and updating wiring, loop and hook‑up diagrams.
• Support specification, selection and testing of sensors, transmitters, switches and control valves.
• Participate in routine and preventive maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Help diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues under supervision.
• Support calibration, verification and documentation of instrumentation devices.
• Contribute to installation, commissioning and reporting for E&I projects.
• Assist with site surveys, inspections, compliance checks and simple programming or logic testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering (or related field).
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits, instrumentation principles and control systems.
• Good communication skills, eagerness to learn and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to work onsite in Pasir Gudang and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• SPLC knowledge.
• Familiarity with field instruments and automation concepts.
• Experience with engineering tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks Electrical (advantage).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Exposure to SCADA and DCS systems (preferred).
