Director of Business Development

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead growth initiatives across its key accounts and partners in Malaysia. The role focuses on identifying new opportunities, building senior‑level relationships, and delivering sustainable revenue and market‑share expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive volume, market share, and revenue.
• Establish and nurture executive‑level relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Identify, evaluate, and launch new business opportunities, partnerships, and market initiatives aligned with Mastercard’s objectives.
• Lead sales and implementation processes for new products, services, and innovative payment solutions.
• Provide consultative support on industry trends, market developments, and Mastercard capabilities.
• Coordinate cross‑functional collaboration with Account Management, Product, Marketing, Services, Finance, Legal, and other teams.
• Oversee account planning, business reviews, portfolio performance, and investment strategies.
• Manage business cases, commercial negotiations, and strategic proposals.
• Monitor competitive, regulatory, and market changes to spot emerging opportunities and risks.
• Mentor and lead market teams, fostering a culture of commercial excellence and growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in business development, relationship management, sales, consulting, banking, payments, technology, or financial services.
• Proven track record of delivering revenue growth and managing large, strategic accounts.
