Customs Services Manager – Asia Pacific

About the role

We are looking for a Customs Services Manager to lead our Asia Pacific customs team in Kuala Lumpur. The role is responsible for delivering classification, rules of origin analysis, certificate of origin issuance and customs verification, while ensuring compliance with local regulations and international trade agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Define team goals, stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure compliance across all import/export activities.
• Lead customs‑related projects, develop plans, monitor progress and manage risks to achieve timely delivery.
• Identify and mitigate customs risks, support internal audits and implement corrective actions.
• Act as primary contact for customs authorities, provide training to internal teams and collaborate with supply‑chain, legal and order‑management functions.
• Prepare regular performance and compliance reports, analyse data to spot trends and drive optimisation.
• Manage quality assurance, handle non‑conformance issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee risk management activities including access control, data protection and business continuity planning.
• Maintain knowledge management documentation and assign clear process ownership.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a customs or trade compliance team.
• Strong understanding of regional customs regulations and free‑trade agreements.
• Demonstrated project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage risk, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities.
