About the role

Mastercard is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Asia Pacific legal team in Kuala Lumpur. The role provides end‑to‑end legal support to the Products & Innovation team, helping to launch and protect innovative payment solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and tactical legal advice to the Products & Innovation team across the Asia Pacific region.
• Partner with technology, sales, franchise, marketing and communications teams to develop and launch new products and services.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including complex technology agreements and strategic partnerships.
• Manage project‑based and pan‑regional legal work, including licensing, franchise, marketing, regulatory, M&A and dispute resolution matters.
• Support executive‑level business professionals with proactive legal guidance.

Required profile

• Technology‑ and payments‑focused attorney with extensive product development experience.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver both tactical and strategic legal support.
• Strong business judgment and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, diverse workload.
• Proven track record of providing pragmatic, proactive advice to senior stakeholders.
• Experience working on cross‑functional teams and handling complex contractual matters.
