Compliance & Privacy Specialist – APAC

About the role

TransPerfect is seeking a Compliance & Privacy Specialist for the APAC region, based in Kuala Lumpur. The role ensures the operational success of the company’s compliance and privacy programmes, handling data subject requests and supporting regulatory obligations across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of all Data Subject Rights (DSR) requests, managing deadlines, communications and task assignments.
• Lead investigations and draft Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR) responses.
• Monitor, research and implement new or updated regulatory requirements.
• Communicate compliance and privacy matters with internal stakeholders, clients, sales and management, including responding to RFPs.
• Participate in internal audit activities, coordinating interviews, reporting and follow‑up actions.
• Travel as needed and work flexible hours to collaborate with global teams.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements to internal processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in compliance or privacy, with a bachelor’s degree, or 1 year with a relevant legal certification (e.g., CIPP, CIPM).
• Strong project‑management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and the native language.
• Detail‑oriented, quick learner with strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Team‑player with a flexible and creative approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
