Coastal Engineer – Land Reclamation & Port Projects

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Coastal Engineer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. You will support the planning and design of civil engineering projects such as land reclamation, port construction and other coastal structures, both locally and overseas.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and designing civil engineering works for land reclamation, ports, jetties, revetments and related coastal structures.
• Support the Executive Engineer/Design Manager in site‑investigation planning, data interpretation and technical analysis.
• Perform civil, structural, environmental and geotechnical design for quay walls, temporary and permanent retaining systems, foundations and soil‑improvement measures.
• Prepare calculations, reports, drawings and specifications as required.
• Manage sub‑contracts such as soil investigation, accredited checker and biodiversity contracts.
• Supervise design and on‑site activities, ensuring compliance with statutory standards, regulations and codes of practice.
• Contribute to tender submissions and project documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering recognised by the relevant regulatory body.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Team player able to multitask, disciplined, self‑motivated and resourceful.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Familiarity with engineering software such as Plaxis, Geostudio, StaadPro or Prokon is an advantage.
