Business Development Manager – Kuala Lumpur

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive revenue growth for an assigned portfolio, meeting sales and margin targets. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will develop sales plans, market strategies and manage key customer relationships in Kuala Lumpur.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver sales and margin targets for the portfolio.
• Prepare and present yearly sales plans, forecasts and budgets.
• Develop strategies to win new business and deepen market penetration.
• Research market trends, build sales pipelines and provide accurate forecasts.
• Evaluate opportunities and risks, making recommendations to senior management.
• Prepare high‑quality presentations, quotations and tender documents.
• Guide and manage Business Development Executives to achieve activity plans and sales goals.
• Assist with customer service and outstanding debt collection.
• Act as focal point for customers, tracking leads and opportunities in CRM.
• Maintain strong relationships with major and potential customers, aiming for high Net Promoter Scores.
• Conduct cold‑calling, review existing contracts and negotiate new agreements.
• Provide periodic portfolio analysis, including competitor and market share insights.
• Participate in weekly meetings and handle ad‑hoc market research and reporting.

Required profile

• Business or communications qualification essential.
• Proven track record in new business development initiatives.
• Experience in sales planning, forecasting and margin management.
• Ability to evaluate opportunities, prepare quotations and tender documents.
• Experience managing customer relationships and achieving positive NPS.
• Familiarity with CRM systems for lead tracking and analysis.
