Boarding Officer – Vessel Operations (Johor, Malaysia)

About the role

The Vessel Boarding Officer will be the on‑site representative for Inchcape Shipping Services when vessels arrive, stay and depart from Malaysian ports. The role ensures smooth coordination between ship crews, port authorities and service providers while complying with local maritime regulations and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Attend vessels at berth, anchorage or offshore terminals to manage arrival, stay and departure formalities.
• Coordinate clearances and inspections with customs, immigration, marine department and other government agencies.
• Handle delivery and collection of ship documents such as crew lists, arrival/departure declarations and cargo paperwork.
• Support crew changes, identity verification, gate‑pass arrangements and medical transport.
• Maintain compliance with safety and security protocols, including the ISPS Code.
• Arrange supply deliveries, repairs and husbandry services and record all boarding activities and expenses.

• Available 24/7 to respond to operational needs and emergencies.
• Commitment to adhere to HSSE, compliance and ethics policies of the company.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Malaysian maritime regulations and port clearance procedures.
• Familiarity with ISPS Code and safety/security protocols.
• Ability to use port‑related systems such as MMSW, SCS, Dagang Net and DHL appointment tools.
